Each semester students of Delaware County Community College and residents of the Delaware County region have access to concerts featuring the world's top musicians right in their own backyard. The series highlights the expansive musical experience available in the 21st century, presenting virtuosic and cutting edge musicians from around the globe. America Now: Living Composers
Join us for an afternoon performance by cellist Jason Calloway. The program focuses entirely on works created by living American composers, including a world premiere by Professor Richard Belcastro. Devoted advocate of new music, Calloway has performed to acclaim throughout North America, the Caribbean, Europe, and the Middle East as soloist and chamber musician. Internationally acclaimed pianists Eva-Maria Zimmerman and Keisuke Nakagoshi perform works by Gabriella Smith, Ryan Brown, Nicholas Pavkovik, Sahba Aminikia, Pablo Ortiz, Kenji Oh, Gabriela Lena Frank, and Igor Stravinsky. They believe that the piano duet is the most intimate form of chamber music, with two musicians playing individual parts on one instrument in a complex, often beautiful choreography of four hands.
